Why it Matters

In many Haitian communities, pastors are a trusted voice, both spiritually and socially. When equipped with sound training and support, their influence multiplies. The Gospel becomes more accessible when it’s taught in the local language by someone who understands the culture and the daily challenges people face. A well-supported pastor can lead a healthier, more engaged, and more impactful church and by extension, help build a stronger, more resilient community.

Years ago, Witny laced up his cleats as a young player on a YKM soccer team. The program didn’t just teach him the sport, it also shaped his character, gave him a sense of belonging, and introduced him to the hope of the Gospel.

Today, Witny stands on the sidelines as a coach, pouring into the next generation of Haitian youth just as others once invested in him.

"It’s a privilege to give back to my community and share the hope of Christ through soccer," Witny says. "I dream of the day when every child in Haiti has this same opportunity, a safe place to play, learn, and experience God’s love."
