The Jordan Project
The jordan Project
The Jordan Project is named after a man who believed in giving in many different ways and began as a way to honor the memory of its namesake, Jordan Cowan. The Jordan Project was established on October 28, 2023 and exists in order to meet four needs;
-The food insecurity crisis
- Job creation
- Starts gospel conversations
- Revenue generator in Haiti
We meet these four needs through chicken coops throughout Northern Haiti. Not long before Jordan’s passing, Jordan was able to visit with the founder of Y-Knot, Christian Jackson, about an opportunity to help the people of Haiti. Jordan wanted to make a difference in people’s lives. He wanted them to not just be fed physically but he also wanted them to be fed spiritually. He wanted to do something that could affect the Haitian people for not only their present but also their future. Jordan was passionate about self-sufficient programs and from this conversation and his passion, 'The Chicken Project' was born.
With Jordan’s financial and moral support, YKM built its first chicken coop, hired a staff to care for the chickens and then bought their first 300 baby chicks. Within three days from the chickens reaching maturity- YKM sold out of chickens.
Though Jordan never got to see the success of The Chicken Project, his legacy and generosity will continue to live on. This ministry will continue on because of Jordan's initial belief and generosity. Jordan's family continues to give in memory of him & to show their love for all God’s people.

Why Chicken Coop's?
7.4 million people in Haiti are currently in a food insecurity crisis and food inflation is up to 53%. The unemployment rate in Haiti is unacceptable. Money needs to cycle in Haiti instead of only around and outside of Haiti. People need the hope and love of Jesus.
Jordan Cowan
Jordan was born on October 28, 1996, and lived 26 years. Jordan believed in YKM from the very beginning. He enjoyed hearing the vision of the ministry and loved to participate in conversations about the direction the ministry was headed. Jordan contributed financially to Y-Knot Missions, but he was also a great friend and support to the founder of YKM, Christian.Read more

How we are making a difference
With Chicken Coops, we are able to lessen the gap in all these areas:
- We are able to sell chickens at an affordable price where people can actually buy food for a fair price.
- We are able to employ people in the village to work in and with the chicken coop.
- The chicken coop generates money in Haiti and is 100% s elf-sufficient, which means we can put that money directly back into our programs in Haiti.
- We are able to have real and authentic conversations with people about Jesus and share with them the gospel.
Give to The Jordan Project
When you give to The Jordan Project you are helping us further our reach and impact throughout Haiti. A donation to this program allows us expand our chicken coops to different villages, feed more people, build bigger coops for more chickens and hire more staff. Because The Jordan Project is 100% s elf-sufficient, a donation to The Jordan Project actually is an investment into other YKM programs. Click here in order to give directly to The Jordan Project.
